This painting of the hanging branches of a tropical breadfruit tree is a wonderful focus for meditating. When I was sitting under this breadfruit tree, on Aitutaki, one of the Cook Islands in the South Pacific, I was looking up and taking it in, bit by bit, while drawing the graceful branches and the big, dissected leaves. The mind follows the eyes, exploring, tracing the beautiful leaves, which are dark on top and light below.
