I wanted to explore the dancers' hips swaying in opposite directions from the side, while the upper body and shoulders stay calmly straight. In my drawing, it could be the same dancer from two perspectives, or two different Cook Islands drum dancers. I�m leaving the interpretation open, because in a drawing, I can.
Judith Kunzle is drawing dancers in action, paints mountains en plein air, and many other subjects she encounters. Judith lived for 30 years in the South Pacific, mostly in the Cook Islands, two years on Hawaii and six years in California. In 2021 she returned to Switzerland.
