Ha....a search for symmetry...did you find it ?...lol..

Judith Kunzle replied:

Yes, I did, and it opened a door to a new direction for my work. I'm not quite sure how it will influence me. I Look forward to figure it out.

Thank you! I was surprised myself, how addictive this research of symmetry became.

Artist's Description

Looking at a pattern from Tonga got me into exploring symmetry, and kept me fascinated for days. I started with rotational symmetry, then discovered four ways to combine it with mirror and flip symmetry. It was a challenging and mind-boggling exercise, but when I worked out it correctly, the patterns were beautiful.

About Judith Kunzle

Judith Kunzle

Judith Kunzle has a big diversity of motifs: the human body in motion, to landscapes from the South Pacific, to California and her native Switzerland. She loves to draw and paint bodies that move, like dancers, yogis and other humans, animals and plants, including mountains which also show time and change. Her study in human anatomy and the structure of living things are loving observation, giving her work warmth, substance and depth. Judith lived for 30 years in the South Pacific, on Samoa and in the Cook Islands, two years on Hawaii and six years in California. In 2021 she returned to her native Switzerland to paint mountains.
