Artist's Description
Kelvin, a friend who worked at the Cook Islands Marine Resources department, brought this Blue-spot Rock Lobster to my house late at night. He knew that I needed to draw a local lobster as a natural history record, so when he spotted one on his night dive, he grabbed it. We put it in an aquarium until I was finished drawing, which took a couple of days, then I gave it away. I’ll eat vegetable and fruit models, but not animals I have looked at so closely, and admiringly.

History of process rather than contradiction. I have started my art career as illustrator, which required meticulous drawing skills. In a way, I started drawing trees, while now, I'm more interested in painting the forest, and the climate of a forest, etc I hope this makes sense...

Amazing contradiction in style between your loose type and this meticulous work....done by your alter ego ?...lol
