These Red-tailed Tropicbirds (Phaethon rubricauda) lived on Takutea, an uninhabited island and bird sanctuary in the Cook Islands, South Pacific. I sat in the sand in the bushes to sketch this parent bird and chick.

Judith lived for 30 years in the South Pacific, mostly in the Cook Islands, two years on Hawaii and six years in California. In 2021 she returned to Switzerland.
