Artist's Description

I've had the privilege to draw the amazing Alonzo King Lines Ballet at rehearsals. This work is a digital collage of drawings on paper, of 12 contemporary ballet dancers in action. First, I compiled drawings of each dancer into a "tile", then composed the 12 tiles into this tableau of movements. I used Photoshop for the digital part of the work.

About Judith Kunzle

Judith Kunzle

Judith Kunzle has a big diversity of motifs: the human body in motion, to landscapes from the South Pacific, to California and her native Switzerland. She loves to draw and paint bodies that move, like dancers, yogis and other humans, animals and plants, including mountains which also show time and change. Her study in human anatomy and the structure of living things are loving observation, giving her work warmth, substance and depth. Judith lived for 30 years in the South Pacific, on Samoa and in the Cook Islands, two years on Hawaii and six years in California. In 2021 she returned to her native Switzerland to paint mountains.
