The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. This painting inspired a poem, by Georgette Howington:
The sacred trees sent a message by way of deep
lattice fungi, symbiotically connected to their roots;
reaching the soil bacteria; bugs and insects; birds;
the animals and plants; the oceans, skies, and even
the moon and the sun wondered why she left when
times had grown grim.
And so, the climate of planet Earth changed.
Where it had been hot turned cold; cold became hot.
Floods, hurricanes, earthquakes and drought riddled
their world. All of life breathed in and breathed out
waiting for her return.
There she sat silent and still: in the guise of a dancer
posing for artists to paint her while she meditated.
“I’ve studied them all… scientists, carpenters, teachers,
preachers, villagers, urban folks, circus performers,
doctors… but the artists are the most compelling and
peaceful.”

About Judith Kunzle
Judith Kunzle is drawing dancers in action, paints mountains en plein air, and many other subjects she encounters. Judith lived for 30 years in the South Pacific, mostly in the Cook Islands, two years on Hawaii and six years in California. In 2021 she returned to Switzerland. Judith Kuenzle zeichnet Taenzer in action, malt Berge en plein air und andere Sujets die ihr begegnen. Judith lebte 30 Jahre im Sued Pazifik, vor allem in den Cook Inseln, zwei Jahre in Hawaii und sechs Jahre in Kalifornien. Seit 2021 lebt sie wieder in die Schweiz.
