Artist's Description
Cook Islands dance is vibrant and joyful. I have been drawing Cook Islands dancers for 20 years at rehearsals, performances and impromptu dances. Drum dances are very dynamic and the costumes, made from natural fibers, are designed to amplify the vigorous movements of the hips and legs, while the shoulders and heads are steady, cool, collected - and smiling.
